Feedback

Jasmine

Thank you for your great work!

Your eye for detail is magical ✨ and I find your pictures both magical and very honest at the same time.

Feedback

Josephine

Lara responds to her clients' wishes, understands what emotions they want to show and gives great tips if you're stuck as a model. She has her very own style of editing the pictures, which I like incredibly well, and thus rekindles the emotions. On a personal level, Lara is a super nice person. She responds to the horse and human couple in front of her and supports them wherever she can, be it with outfit changes or even if an idea can't quite be realised the way you thought it would. Simply marvellous.

I'm so glad I booked Lara, her photos are incredible, magical, sunny. Just like her person.

Frequently asked questions

  • But I have no shooting experience at all...

And that's no problem at all!

All the horses and people you see on my site are completely normal, like you and me, and have no experience in front of the camera.

I like to photograph as naturally as possible, in an almost documentary way, by observing horses and taking a photo at the right moment. Forced poses are not my thing.

When shooting with you, I give the necessary instructions so that you feel comfortable in front of my camera, otherwise I let you do it. With me you can just be, nothing has to be. I take time for you so that we can take natural and informal photos in peace and quiet.

  • How long does a photo shoot take?

A photo shoot usually takes about an hour.

But you should plan enough time for this so that we can take photos without stress.

  • What should I wear to the photo shoot?

The best photos are taken in the clothes you feel comfortable in.

Avoid garish clothes and wild patterns.

Natural colours (earth and green tones) go best with horses.

You are welcome to bring several outfits to the shoot and we will decide together. You can also change outfits once during the shoot.

  • Which locations are suitable for a photo shoot?

The best location is the one in which your horse feels comfortable. Expressive photos can be taken anywhere, even where you least expect it.

    • On the pasture by the stable
    • In the riding arena
    • In the forest or at the edge of the forest
    • By the river or lake (a particular highlight in summer)

If you fancy an adventure, I suggest the following locations:

    • On the alp
    • In the quarry
    • In the gravel pit
    • For historic buildings

If you are not sure, you can always send me a photo of the location and we can decide together.

  • What if it rains on the day of the shoot?

    No problem!

We still take photos in light rain. Rain often gives photos a special charm.

If it rains and/or thunderstorms heavily on the day of the shoot, we will postpone the photo shoot to an alternative date free of charge.

We decide 2 days in advance whether the shoot will take place or not.

  • How can I prepare for the photo shoot?

In the long term, you can prepare for the photo shoot by thinking about what you want from your photos. But this is not a must.

If you want to do the shoot at a special location, it makes sense to go there with your horse beforehand and get it used to the situation.

It is always helpful to organise one or more helpers for the shoot.

In the short term, your horse should be groomed in time for the photo session.

  • Can partners / children / friends / other animals also be included in the photo?

With pleasure. Please let me know in advance so that we can plan accordingly.

There is no limit to the number of horses we can photograph, I am happy to photograph you in the middle of a whole herd.

  • Does my horse have to stand free during the shoot?

No! Free photos are only taken in the pasture or at your own risk,

In almost all my photos (except those taken in the mountains) the horses are wearing a knotted halter or a special photo halter, or are standing in a meadow with a fence, which I retouched out afterwards.

  • Help, my horse just wants to eat!

If your horse would like to eat grass during the shoot, we will simply switch to a location without grass on the ground. This could be a riding arena or a field or forest path.

Alternatively, we can simply take a photo of you and your horse in motion so that it can't get to the tasty blades of grass so easily.

  • How long does it take to get to the preview gallery and the finished photos?

Depending on the workload, it will take 3-7 days for me to send you the selection gallery.

The final photos will be delivered between two and four weeks after the image selection, depending on the number.

This is communicated accordingly during the shoot.

  • What happens after the photo shoot?

After the photo shoot, I sort the photos, edit them slightly and upload them to a preview gallery.

You can choose your favourites there.

I will retouch them (remove halters, fences and flies) and give them a finishing touch.

You will receive the final photos via a download link.

The prints are sent by post.

  • How can I pay for the photo shoot?

The shooting fee must be paid in advance by bank transfer or on the day of the shoot in cash or by Twint.

If you opt for additional photos, you can pay for them by invoice or Twint.

  • What time of day does the shoot take place?

I prefer to take photos at sunrise or sunset. The advantage is that the light is very soft at this time. With a bit of luck, we get a very interesting lighting mood.

In autumn and winter in particular, the time of day plays less of a role because the light is rather soft throughout the day.

I avoid taking photos at midday to avoid harsh shadows and squinted eyes.

  • What happens if I have to cancel the shoot?

In the event of cancellation or withdrawal from the agreed photo shoot, the following conditions apply:

      • Cancellation up to 7 days before the agreed date: free of charge
      • Cancellation within 7 days before the agreed date: 50% of the agreed fee
      • Cancellation on the day of the agreed appointment or in case of no-show: 100% of the agreed fee

Exceptions are reasons such as illness or injury.

  • What can I use the resulting photos for?

As a customer, you have the private right to use the photos taken during the photo shoot. This means that you may use the images for personal purposes, such as printing and framing the photos for your own use, sharing the images with friends and family on social media or creating a personal photo album.

However, it is important to note that you may not use the images for commercial or business purposes, such as advertising, marketing or sales, unless you have received express written permission from the photographer.

The copyright to the photos also remains with the photographer. You only acquire the right to use the images for private purposes, but not the right to edit, sell or otherwise utilise the images, unless this has been expressly agreed in writing.

A photo shoot is not about perfect poses or experience. It's about capturing relaxed and natural moments - just as they arise between you and your horse. We take all the time we need and take a relaxed approach to the shoot. Your horse will be photographed as it is, whether in the pasture, relaxing or in motion. Every horse, whether young or old, is lovingly staged - without any pressure and with a lot of patience
