I get a lot of messages from horse owners saying that they would love to book a shoot but don't think the pictures will be nice because their horse is old.

Perhaps it already has a lot of grey hair or its coat is tousled due to its Cushing's disease.

Or it is no longer as muscled as it used to be...

Yet it is precisely at this point in time that it is so important to have photos taken of your soul horse.

Perhaps some see her imperfect appearance.

I see a wise soul with so much Expression.

Some see an old horse that no longer shines like the young horse next to it.

I see a horse that has been with us through thick and thin all his life and deserves only the best for the rest of his life.

My unpopular opinion: Older horses are just as photogenic, if not more photogenic - precisely because of their expression - than young horses. I love photographing them. And they deserve to be seen and celebrated.

As someone once wrote so beautifully: All living beings that are looked at with love are beautiful.
