One of the most frequent questions I am asked is:
"Does my horse have to be able to stand freely for the photo shoot?"
The answer is: No!

If you work freely with your horse, that's great, and I love taking photos of you working freely. However, if this is not part of your daily routine, I prefer you to lead your horse by a halter. I can retouch this out later. Alternatively, we can simply take photos in a fenced-in area.
Every shoot is individually tailored to you and your horse. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident. Together we create images that reflect your unique relationship.

I remove halters and fences for aesthetic reasons in post-processing.
Of course I don't have to do that, but for me photography is an art form. My aim is to portray horses as naturally as possible. As safety is always the top priority and halters or fences are usually necessary, they are removed digitally.

Image editing is almost like meditation for me. I love giving each photo an individual look - without changing the message of the image, of course.
But retouching also has its limits. Signs of discomfort are not removed, and if the horse is handled unfairly, I cancel the shoot and charge 100 %. Also, I don't falsify the weather or swap ears. I find it very irritating when the eyes look panicked but the ears have been retouched forwards. I only use artificial intelligence when it's really necessary.
What do I retouch? Anything that distracts the eye from the subject: dirt on your clothes, mucus on the horse's nose or eyes, open zips, mobile phones or treats in trouser pockets.
I look forward to capturing unforgettable moments of you and your horse. Let's discuss your wishes together - just contact meto plan your individual shoot!
